Cabins in Shropshire

Perched on the border with Wales, Shropshire is a hidden gem awash with peaceful rolling hills, iron age forts, the epic walking trail that is Offa’s Dyke and, not one but two UNESCO world heritage sites. Staying in a cosy cabin gives you doorstep access to one of the most biodiverse counties in the British Isles, where you might spot a rare hazel dormouse or a shy pine marten. Extra points if you spy them from the melting tranquillity of a hot tub on the deck of your cabin.

Who we are

Canopy & Stars are a small company who champion independent, outdoor travel. We’ve been roaming the UK and Europe since 2010 to bring you unique glamping places in wild and breathtaking landscapes. Our unique cabins, huts and treehouses vary from rustic and simple to luxurious and spectacular. We’re committed to promoting responsible, sustainable travel and last year we were named Most Ethical Travel Booking Site by Ethical Consumer.

Why are cabins so special?

Steam rises from the hot tub into the crisp country air as you sip your morning coffee and gaze out over undulating hills and wild flower meadows. After a hearty breakfast, you might drift along the river on a paddleboard or hike one of the woodland trails that leads straight from the front door before picking up dinner at a pretty market town nearby. Cabins embody the good life – a chance to slow down, switch off and immerse yourself in nature, before snuggling up with a glass of wine in front of the wood burner.

Is Shropshire worth visiting?

There’s never a dull moment in Shropshire. Your glamping getaway might include the gastronomic delights of timbered Ludlow and medieval Shrewsbury, a ride on the Severn Valley heritage steam railway or a visit to historic Ironbridge Gorge (fact fans – it’s the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution). If you time it right, you can take in one of the county’s many events like Oswestry’s Hot Air Balloon Carnival or Ludlow Food Festival. In between all the activities, go for a leisurely ramble in the gorgeous Shropshire Hills exploring the wild open spaces, castles and forts.
